Cameron studied archaeology at the University of East Anglia, before training for the ministry at Ripon College Cuddesdon, Oxford. In 1984 he was ordained at Lichfield Cathedral and has served in the dioceses of Lichfield, Oxford and Carlisle.
He compiled a book of prayers and readings on the theme of faith and work entitled Work in Worship published by Hodder and Stoughton. Recently he completed his Masters in historical research with his thesis, ‘The Wordsworths in Grasmere 1799-1813: A Study in the Development of the Modern Family’.
Throughout his ministry he has tutored those in training, specializing in church history. He is an honorary tutor with LCTP. Currently he is Chaplain of Rydal Hall, Vicar of St Mary’s Rydal and Rector of St Oswald’s Grasmere. From September 2013 he became Diocesan Spirituality Adviser and regularly leads quiet days and courses on celtic spirituality, prayer and psychology, and spiritual direction.
